Following the approval from Howland trustees, Warren Township has voted to approve a tax abatement for Kimberly-Clark Corp. in hopes of helping its development project.

"Today's approval by Warren Township trustees is yet another piece of the puzzle to secure a tremendous investment that can be the catalyst for long-term economic growth at this former steelmaking site in Trumbull County," said Warren/Youngstown Regional Chamber President Guy Coviello.

Kimberly-Clark bought a piece of property on Pine Avenue in 2023. The property once held a steel mill that closed in 2012 before being demolished.

The project aims to enhance infrastructure to promote growth and add jobs to the area.

"Kimberly-Clark has said they felt welcome and impressed with our business-friendly climate, and that all starts with the Western Reserve Port Authority, Lake to River Economic Development, Warren Township and Howland Township trustees and others, each of which is working to give this project a real chance to succeed," said Coviello

This abatement approval comes after the Ohio Control Board approved the release of over $17 million towards the development earlier this month.
