The Youngstown State University bowling team defeated Jacksonville State in the National Championship match, 4-3 late Saturday night.

YSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, before Jacksonville State got on the board in game three. The Penguins then extended their lead 3-1 in game four.

The defending National Champions climbed back winning two-straight games, which forced a game seven.

Youngstown State went on to secure victory in the game seven to win its first National Title.

This marked the first women's National Championship title in school history plus the schools first since 1997.
