The Youngstown State bowling team beat Nebraska 2-0 in the opening round of the National Collegiate Bowling Championship in Las Vegas Friday afternoon.

The Penguins fell to top-seed Jacksonville State 2-1 in the winner's bracket final Friday evening.

They dropped into an elimination bracket with a rematch against Nebraska Saturday afternoon. The Penguins defeated Nebraska 2-0 in the match.

YSU advanced to its first ever National Championship match. 

They will play Jacksonville State in the National Championship at 9 p.m. It's a best-of-seven contest for the title and will air on ESPNU and ESPN+.
