A liquor store in East Palestine had all of its high-proof spirits removed Friday by state agents.

The Ohio Department of Commerce told 21 News that the East Palestine Liquor Stop on E. Taggart Street in the village will no longer sell high-proof liquor, but the store will remain open and continue to sell beer, wine, and mixed beverages.

The Ohio Department of Commerce said the business had its liquor pulled, "as a result of multiple financial breaches of contractual obligations and failure to implement agreed-upon corrective actions."
