One dead, another charged following accident on State Route 422
One person is dead and another has been charged following an accident between two vehicles on State Route 422 shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday.
According to Coitsville police, there was one person in each vehicle. One person was driving a Subaru and the other was driving a Ford truck. The crash sent one person to the hospital who later died of their injuries.
According to a police report, 24-year-old Robert Powell (pictured below) of West End, North Carolina was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and OVI.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, but the report says one person was trapped in a vehicle after the crash.
Powell was arraigned Friday afternoon.
His bond is set at $125,000.
He'll be back in court on April 17.
