According to a news release, the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter at Trumbull Country Career and Technical Center (TCTC) raised over $1,000 for the Special Olympics Ohio through it's "Chains of Love" fundraiser.

The fundraiser was held from February 3 to February 28 and aimed to engage students and staff across multiple programs in friendly competition to support Special Olympics Ohio.

This competition encouraged TCTC programs to purchase paper chain links with the goal of building the longest chain, in turn raising the most funds.

The Electrical Technology program earned first place, followed closely by Equestrian Studies in second according to the release.

To recognize their efforts, both programs will be treated to a Grab-and-Go Pizza Party on April 17.

The proceeds of the fundraiser will go directly to Special Olympics Ohio to help provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for adults and children with intellectual disabilities according to the release.

"Our BPA members are incredibly proud to support an organization like the Special Olympics," said Tyler Zinsmeister, TCTC BPA Chapter President of Howland High School, as quoted in the release.

He continued, saying," Not only does this fundraiser benefit a wonderful cause, but it also promotes collaboration and school spirit within our career tech community."
