Thirteen people detained in the Mahoning County Jail by immigration officials

Nine people detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have been booked into the Mahoning County Justice Center since Monday, according to the jail's website.
The bookings come nearly two months after Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene told 21 News that his office was working with ICE offices in Detroit and Cleveland as a temporary holding facility for undocumented immigrants arrested by the department as part of the president's plan to remove people living in the U.S. illegally.
The nine individuals join four other prisoners already jailed for alleged immigration violations, with their incarceration periods ranging from 16 to 70 days. As of Tuesday, the jail's website listed a total of 462 inmates.
The recent bookings follow discussions between Sheriff Greene and officials from Homeland Security and ICE.
