Dr. James Kravec with Mercy Health Youngstown has been recognized by Becker's Hospital Review on its 2025 list of Great Leaders in Healthcare.

Dr. Kravec is the Chief Clinical Officer for Mercy Health Lorain and Youngstown, as well as System Medical Director of Graduate Medical Education at Bon Secours Mercy Health.

The "Great Leaders in Healthcare" list highlights health care professionals who are driving innovation, fostering inclusivity and expanding access to care.

Mercy Health Lorain and Youngstown President Dr. John Luellen is quoted in a press release saying Dr. Kravec's passion for improving the health and well-being of its communities makes a lasting impact every day.

"In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kravec's focus on developing the next generation of physicians and recruiting top talent will benefit our communities for decades to come," Dr. Luellen said.

Dr. Kravec was a part of 21 News's Coronavirus Team since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and regularly appeared on 21 News to keep the Mahoning Valley updated.

Dr. Kravec is still a regular guest on 21 News recently appearing on WFMJ Today to discuss COVID-19 five years later on the anniversary of the pandemic and on 21 News at 5 to discuss a surge in flu cases in February.
