East Palestine Volunteer Firefighter's Association has announced that it will be cancelling their annual fireworks show for this year's fourth of July.

The reason given for the cancellation was credited to the ongoing revitalization project that the city is doing to the East Palestine City Park.

"With no other viable venue within the village to host this event, the tough decision was made to cancel the event this year."

While there is no timeframe as to when the $25 million East Palestine City Park revitalization project will be finished the firefighters do plan on returning for the Independence Day festivities next year on July 4, 2026.
