Ohio Representative Michael Rulli responded to a letter sent to him by Mahoning County Democratic Party Chair Christopher Anderson.

Earlier this week Anderson sent a letter to Rulli asking for the Ohio Representative to come and speak at a Youngstown town hall meeting being held by Minnesota Governor and former Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz.

Anderson wanted Rulli to "answer questions about [his] role in this administrations attack on Ohio families," in response to issues like the price of groceries and uncertainty of accessible healthcare.

"As a member of Congress, you are the voice for your constituents in Washington. Join us to truly listen to what they're saying," said Anderson.

Representative Rulli responded to the letter on Thursday, April 3 just before 3 p.m. in an email sent to Anderson.

In the email, Rulli states that due to him having to report to a House of Representatives hearing he will not be able to go to the town hall meeting.

Anderson claims the email was "politically charged," as the email makes mentions to Tim Walz as "failed Vice President."

"The Mahoning Valley embarrassed Mr. Walz and yourself in November, and I am terribly sorry I will be unable to attend your pathetic spectacle in person on Monday," Rulli said.

21 News reached out to Representative Rulli for comment but has not received word back.

Below are both the letter sent to Rulli from Anderson and the email sent to Anderson in response.
