Knife found in elementary school student's belongings at John F. Kennedy Catholic Schools

Parents of students at John F. Kennedy (JFK) Catholic School's Lower Campus in Warren received communication from the school on Thursday regarding a knife that was found among the belongings of a 5th grade student.
According to the communication from Mr. William Pituch, President of JFK Catholic School, the knife was found by a faculty member who immediately told administration.
The student was then removed from class.
According to the communication, at no point were there threats made or hostility between students.
21 News spoke with Pituch who said that an evaluation is being done regarding disciplinary follow-up.
It is unclear at this time what type of knife was found among the student's belongings.
At this time, the school had no further comment on the incident.
