A Youngstown police officer rescued a cat found locked in a commercial freezer behind a gas station, authorities said.

Police responded to a tip and located the cat, later named Kali, who was then taken into the care of Animal Charity of Ohio. The organization said Kali is receiving treatment at their facility.

Animal Charity of Ohio said investigators believe Kali belongs to the same owner as Koda, a dog previously rescued after being shot.

The organization is seeking donations to cover Koda’s veterinary expenses, which they said have reached $15,000.
