Another lawsuit filed in connection with explosion at Realty Building

Yet another lawsuit has been filed against the owners of the Realty Building and crews working in the basement has been filed on Tuesday, April 1.
This time, the suit was filed by a woman who was in the Realty Building at the time it exploded. According to the suit, the woman suffered "serious traumatic injuries" to her back, which required medical treatment and therapy, as well as lost wages.
Like all other lawsuits before it, the lawsuit once again names building owners LY Property Management and Yo Properties 47 LLC, as well as construction company Greenheart Companies LLC and gas company Enbridge Gas Ohio as defendants.
Greenheart was contracted by the City of Youngstown to do work in the basement of the building underneath the sidewalk as part of a sidewalk.
This suit, like the others, accuses the building owners of neglect saying they should have known about the dangerous work being conducted in the basement and warned building occupants about it.
The suit also accuses Greenheart of having improperly trained workers working in the basement of the building and accuses Enbridge of not depressurizing the gas line in the basement prior to crews working on it.
This is one of many lawsuits filed in connection with the explosion with another being filed less than a week before this one by two employees of the Chase Bank housed on the first floor of the building.
Other suits filed include those from tenants of the apartments on the upper floors of the building, as well as the family of Akil Drake, who was killed in the explosion.
