Ohio House Majority Whip Nick Santucci of Niles and State Representative Ty Mathews of Findlay sent a letter this week to President Donald Trump along with Vice President J.D. Vance and Administrator Designate Jared Isaacman urging for the relocation of NASA headquarters to Cleveland.

The letter mentions various reasons for a possible relocation such as Ohio being the birthplace of aviation and being home to many of NASA's greatest astronauts among other things.

"Ohio isn't just a part of aerospace history; we are the architects of its future," stated Santucci. "Relocating NASA Headquarters to Cleveland is a strategic imperative that will ignite a new era of innovation, create thousands of high-paying jobs, and solidify Ohio's position as the global leader in space exploration."

Santucci and Mathews mention other reasons such as Ohio's robust infrastructure of international airports, railways, highways and aerospace development.

Both the legislators mention Ohio's committment to workforce development efforts, innovation, and national security.

The letter has received additional support from 67 members of Ohio's House of Representatives.

Santucci and Mathews will be introducing a House resolution to formally address President Trump, Vice President Vance and Administrator Isaacman about the moving of NASA's headquarters to Ohio.

"Our history proves that Ohio does not just participate in progress—we lead it," said Santucci.
