Two major road projects on the Ohio Turnpike are scheduled to begin in the Mahoning Valley Tuesday, April 1.

In Mahoning County, a project to replace the bridge at Boardman-Canfield Road and U.S. Route 224 will begin. The overhead bridge will have traffic maintained with one lane in each direction throughout the project.

Meanwhile in Trumbull County, the pavement from milepost  212.76 to 216.25 near Lordstown will be replaced beginning Tuesday, April 1. 

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction during the project. Around August 1, the toll plaza 215 eastbound exit ramp in Lordstown will be closed for 60 days.

Three lanes of traffic will be restored at the end of the 2025 construction season and the project will continue into 2026. No ending date for the project has been revealed yet.
