What happened to money donated to 'Warren City Hospital' campaign?

You may recall before Insight had assumed operations at Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, a non-profit called Warren City Hospital was collecting donations in hopes of saving the two hospitals, which had recently closed as a result of Steward Health declaring bankruptcy.
The most recent developments in Insight's story with the hospitals begs the question, where is that money now? Here's what we've learned.
Warren City Hospital was working with the United Way of Trumbull County to raise the money. Warren City Hospital Secretary John Woods tells 21 News the only other money raised was raised by people directly involved with the effort, which mostly went to things like paying experts to consult for them.
United Way of Trumbull County President and CEO Christine Cope told 21 News the only thing they had done so far was provide an appreciation luncheon for the employees who stuck with the hospital through the transition period.
Cope says most of the funds were held back to see how things would go with Insight taking over operations at the hospital. The United Way kept a list of donors and will ask them what they would like to do with the money.
Cope says there is a health initiative the money could go towards, donors can designate the funds to another 501(c)3 or they can wait and see what Insight will do. Donors can also have their donations returned.
If you donated and have not been contacted by United Way, you can reach out to the United Way of Trumbull County at 330-369-1000.
As for Warren City Hospital, Woods says the group still has a couple thousand dollars left, but is not sure what will be done with that money.
