Girard man accused of threatening woman with hunting knife

A Girard man accused of assaulting a woman and threatening her with a hunting knife was arraigned Monday in Girard Municipal Court.
Noah Alexander Howley, 28, of Girard, appeared before Judge Jeffrey D. Adler on charges of felonious assault, a felony, and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
The charges stem from an incident on March 6 after Girard police officers responded to a disturbance call on South State St. at 3:54 p.m.
Officers say they found a woman bloody, visibly shaken, and crying at a nearby business.
The woman told officers she had been at Howley's home when he became jealous after seeing her using Snapchat to communicate with friends. She said Howley began screaming at her, struck her in the face, and threw her around the room.
According to the report, the alleged victim said Howley forced her to the ground and held a large hunting-style knife to her throat while yelling at her. He then allegedly dragged her down the stairs, threw her out of the house with her belongings, and threw her phone at the garage before going back inside. The woman then fled to a vape shop, where an employee called the police.
Officers say the woman had a one to two-inch laceration on her neck, a laceration on her finger, and several bruises on her body. Girard Fire Department personnel treated the woman’s injuries at the scene. She declined further hospital treatment.
Howley was subsequently taken into custody and placed in the county jail on Friday.
