Salem fugitive arrested in Alliance after alleged vehicle tampering, foot chase

A Salem man faces several charges after a foot chase and arrest early Saturday morning in Alliance.
According to the Alliance Police Department, Noah Bainbridge, 26, East Pigeon Road, was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. near the University of Mount Union campus.
Police said Bainbridge was seen attempting to open car doors in an area that has recently experienced thefts from vehicles.
Bainbridge initially provided a false name to the officer and then fled on foot. Officers chased him, and he was apprehended off South Rockhill Avenue.
A patrolman apprehended Bainbridge after a brief struggle, taking him down over a fence in a nearby backyard.

Authorities said Bainbridge is on parole after being sentenced to three years in prison for felonious assault in Columbiana County.
According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Bainbridge was wanted for a parole violation.
Bainbridge was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and falsification. He is currently held in the Stark County Jail.
