Trumbull Co. Prosecutor opposes parole of Warren man convicted of murder, abuse of a corpse

The Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office is speaking out against the potential parole of a convicted murderer from Warren.
Roy G. Green, 72, was sentenced to 18-years-to-life in prison in 1995 after pleading guilty to murder with a firearm specification, abuse of a corpse and receiving stolen property.
Green was convicted of the December 23, 1994, killing of Devin Griffin.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Green killed Griffin inside his Bellcrest Avenue SE garage with a shotgun and then disposed of his body with his son, disposing trash bags full of body parts in a wooded area and pond around Christmas 1994.
Green's son, Ray Morgan, ended up being a key witness in the case.
Prosecutor Dennis Watkins says Morgan and other Green family members fear Roy's potential release from the prison system. Watkins characterizes Green as "sane crazy," because he believes his actions were crazy but he did them with awareness.
Prosecutor Watkins further described Green as "A 'madman' who should never be unleashed on society or his own family."
