Cargill Kitchen Solutions is recalling 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products that may be contaminated with a cleaning solution containing sodium hypochlorite, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “G1804” ink-jetted on the carton. These items were shipped to distributor locations in Ohio and Texas and for food service use in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Iowa. The FSIS said there’s a possibility the products were distributed nationwide.
The problem was discovered after the FSIS received a tip about potential contamination. FSIS scientists determined that the cleaning solution should not cause adverse health consequences or that the risk is negligible. The recall is classified as a Class III, which the FSIS said indicates a low health risk.
The FSIS said it has received no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from consuming the products. However, anyone concerned about illness should contact a health care provider.
The FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ or food service workers ' refrigerators or freezers. Consumers are urged not to consume the products, and food service locations are urged not to serve them. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
