CHIEF: Friday afternoon fire at Newton Falls house intentionally set

Fire officials in Newton Falls believe a fire that left a woman in critical condition late Friday afternoon was intentionally set.
The fire happened at a home in the 3400 block of Hallock Young Road around 5 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters were able to get the flames under control but there was heavy smoke throughout the home.
Newton Falls Fire Chief James Williamson tells 21 News it is believed that the fire was intentionally set by the woman inside. At this time, no charges have been filed yet, but Williamson says charges could possibly be filed later.
Chief Williamson says the home sustained about $140,000 worth of damage. No one else was in the home at the time of the fire.
