Multi-count indictment alleges Youngstown man forced six women into prostitution

A Mahoning County grand jury has returned a 26-count indictment against a Youngstown man accused of forcing half a dozen women into prostitution.
The indictment alleges that 36-year-old Larry Burgess committed a series of offenses, including compelling six women ranging in age from 26 to 42 into acts of prostitution. Burgess is accused of raping one of the women twice.
Burgess faces two counts of first-degree felony rape, accusing him of compelling a woman to engage in sexual conduct by force or threat of force. He is also charged with multiple counts of compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony, involving several different women.
The indictment also includes numerous drug-related charges, including trafficking in heroin, cocaine, fentanyl-related compounds, and methamphetamine. He faces fifth-degree felony charges for most of the drug trafficking counts and a fourth-degree felony for aggravated trafficking in drugs.
Additionally, Burgess is charged with corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony, alleging he caused serious physical harm to a woman by administering or furnishing her with fentanyl.
Other charges include having weapons while under disability, receiving stolen property (a firearm), and possession of fentanyl-related compounds and methamphetamine. The indictment states that Burgess is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction.
Since his arrest in October, Burgess has been held at the Mahoning County Justice Center. His arraignment is pending.
