Paving project set to begin on Route 18 in Mercer County April 7

A $1.8 million paving project is set to begin on Route 18 in Mercer County Monday, April 7.
The project will take place on Route 18 in Shenango Township and West Middlesex and will include paving of 2.5 miles of roadway from Roman Road near the Route 376 Interchange to just north of the I-80 overpass near Broadway Avenue.
Additionally, work will include milling, full depth reconstruction, driveway adjustments, tree trimming and seeding, as well as updates to drainage, sidewalks, ADA ramps, guiderails, roadway markers, pavement markings and signs.
The project will be paid for entirely with federal funds.
Construction will begin Monday, April 7 and is expected to last until mid-July of 2025. No detours are expected, but motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.
Drivers should expect travel delays during active work hours.
