Youngstown baby taken off life support

A Youngstown baby who had been fighting a hard-fought battle against a health crisis has passed away.
The family of Aubrey Curry shared that the young child was taken off life support Thursday afternoon, stating that there was nothing more that hospital staff could do for Aubrey.
A relative of the family and organizer of a GoFundMe page announced through the GoFundMe on Wednesday that young Aubrey Curry had been placed on life support.
The announcement also stated that Aubrey's "lungs and kidneys are not working how they should be."
A Facebook post on Tuesday from Aubrey's mother, Ashley Young, said that "Aubrey has taken a bad turn."
Young's post said that Aubrey's lungs have produced a leak, one that continued to fill her chest with air and put pressure on her heart.
The post from Young also said that the leak was caused by sepsis.
Aubrey was born on January 12. She arrived five weeks early, but was healthy enough to go home at that time.
The family was settling in when they all came down with the flu. For Aubrey, the illness took a turn.
Doctors diagnosed Aubrey with acute liver failure. She was placed on dialysis in late February at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, waiting for a transplant.
An Facebook update from Young and GoFundMe update from the relative states that Aubrey had received the liver transplant she had been waiting for on March 20.
She underwent surgery to receive the transplant that same day.
Those who wish to support the family can donate through the GoFundMe page.
