Austintown man pleads guilty to deadly shooting at apartment complex

An Austintown man has pled guilty to his role in a shooting at an Austintown apartment complex from when he was a teenager.
Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro tells 21 News 19-year-old Ethan Richmond pled guilty to the charges he was originally indicted on including one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of felonious assault with a firearm specification.
Richmond was originally charged as a juvenile because he was 17 years old at the time of the crime, but he was later indicted in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas as an adult.
The charges stem from a shooting at an apartment on Compass West Drive back in September of 2023 that claimed the life of 22-year-old Vincent Tarver and wounded another woman.
Richmond was not the only one involved in this case. Maro tells 21 News 23-year-old Talim Mumin was also convicted in connection with this case.
Court records show Mumin had pled guilty to one count of complicity to voluntary manslaughter and complicity to felonious assault. He was sentenced in January to six to seven-and-a-half years in prison on these charges.
Richmond is scheduled to be sentenced May 6.
