Rehabilitation work on Market Street Bridge to begin mid April

The Market Street Bridge in Youngstown is expected to receive some rehabilitation work beginning on April 14,
The Mahoning County Engineer plans to replace the bridge lighting, strip seals, elastomeric compression seal and joint armor.
There are also plans to add horizontal extensions to the ends of existing expansion joints and add new protection measures against vandalism such as a fence.
Plans of patching the concrete throughout the bridge and repairing and repainting the structural steel have also been mentioned.
Construction on the bridge will cause lane restrictions, with the northbound lanes on the east side of the bridge being blocked off beginning on the day construction starts.
Traffic will be going one lane in each direction and the traffic will be shifted accordingly to where the work is being done.
The Mahoning County Engineer has gotten BG Trucking & Construction Company of North Lima as the contractor for this rehabilitation project and will have 240 calendar days to complete the project.
This rehabilitation project will cost in total approximately $3,723,104 to complete.
