Walmart and Sam's Club are launching 'Fight Hunger. Spark Change' for the 12th year in a row with locations in Mercer County participating in the campaign.

"More than 15,000 people in Mercer County are experiencing food insecurity," said Executive Director of Mercer County Food Bank, Rebecca Page. "We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of Walmart to help us feed the needs of our neighbors," added Page.

The campaign which ends on March 31 works in connection to Feeding America and aims to provide those facing hunger in the area access to the food and resources they require to survive.

Feeding America hosts a network of food banks across the country including Mercer County Food Bank.

Shoppers at these stores can participate in the campaign in three ways such as donating at check-out in stores or using the shop's respective apps, purchasing participating products or donating directly to Feeding America.

Purchasing participating products will allow the supplier of those products to donate the monetary equivalent of one meal in Walmart and five meals in Sam's Club to Feeding America.

Some participating companies and products include Coca-Cola, Bush's Baked Beans, Dole, Hidden Valley Ranch, Pepsi, Utz, Kellogg and more.

Those interested in donating directly can do so at the link here for Walmart and here for Sam's Club.
