Work to replace the bridge in Wolf Creek Township on Scrubgrass Road over Wolf Creek is set to start soon.

The $1 million project will include the tearing down of the old bridge, construction of the new one, excavation, small amounts of asphalt paving, and updating the current guardrails.

The scheduled start date is April 7 and, with permitting weather, should be complete by August 29, 2025.

Construction will require a detour via Route 173, Millbrook Road (Route 2022) and Centertown Road (Route 2009) which is expected to be posted for five months.

The project is being paid for entirely via federal funds and will be carried out by Jet Excavating who is based out of New Middletown, Ohio.

The existing steel bridge was constructed in 1939 and due to its age and its use by an average of about 500 cars per day is classified as poor condition.
