New stop sign installed at Hubbard intersection to improve safety

Drivers in Hubbard should be alert for a new stop sign installed at an intersection in the city.
A new stop sign has been installed at the intersection of Waugh Drive and Jerry Drive. Hubbard Safety Director Shawn Rentz tells 21 News the new stop sign was installed after his office received complaints.
Rentz says once drivers turn on to Waugh Drive from Gary Drive, there was no stop signs until the intersection with Saul Drive, which is multiple intersections away.
Concerns came in from families with kids in the area that drivers might not slow down for kids due to the long stretch without a stop sign. Rentz says the addition of this stop sign would allow for drivers to slow down for kids.
A Facebook post from the Hubbard Police Department warns drivers to be extra cautious and remain alert when driving through this intersection, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area.
At this time, no more new stop signs are set to be installed.
