Youngstown CityScape will be hosting its annual Streetscape Planting Day Saturday, May 31.

The event will go on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Youngstown. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for 9 a.m. to noon the following day.

Last year, nearly a record was set 1,000 people participated in the event by landscaping a public green space throughout downtown Youngstown and neighborhoods in every ward in the city.

Youngstown CityScape Executive Director Sharon Letson says the organization is excited to offer bigger and brighter possibilities in light of the latest changes and developments downtown.

"From First Fridays, public art projects, major entertainment events, to business development, downtown is primed for community involvement now more than ever. We hope that this year you will join us for Streetscape Day and take advantage of this opportunity for grass roots participation in nurturing and celebrating our city’s central hub and gateway neighborhoods. We couldn’t do it without terrific volunteer support,” Letson said.

Anyone looking to volunteer this year is required to register to do so. You can register by clicking here.
