Recall issued for 4,800 pouches of colby jack cheese sold at ALDI over metal concerns

Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc. is recalling about 400 cases of Happy Farms by ALDI Colby Jack shredded cheese due to potential contamination with stainless steel fragments, the Food and Drug Administration said.
The recall involves 12-ounce packages of the cheese, sold exclusively at ALDI stores in Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The recalled cheese has "best by" dates of July 13, 2025, and July 14, 2025.
The affected product is packaged in flexible plastic stand-up pouches, 12 pouches per case, with UPC code 4061463330840. Specific lot numbers are: 1.) Best by JUL 13 25 H and 2.) Best by JUL 14 25 H. The batch number is 8679653 and the item number is 170374.
The FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote. 1
