FDA: 198,000 cans of Target brand green beans recalled over foreign object risk

Del Monte Foods, Inc. has issued a recall for nearly 198,000 cans of Good & Gather Cut Green Beans, sold at Target stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and 19 other states, due to the potential presence of a foreign object. This information was released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall affects 14.5-ounce cans of Good & Gather Cut Green Beans with the UPC 0 85239-11628 9. The affected cans have a "Best if Used By" date of October 28, 2026, and a lot code of 7AA 418507.
The distribution of the recalled product spanned across multiple states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Del Monte Foods initiated the recall on February 12, 2025, after identifying the potential contamination. The FDA classified the recall on March 13, 2025. The specific foreign object was not detailed in the FDA recall notice.
