Former Mercer County Commissioner dies at 82

An obituary from the Cunningham Funeral Home in Grove City announced the passing of former Mercer County Commissioner, William "Bill" Reznor, who passed away on March 17 at Avalon Springs Nursing Home.
Reznor was born on September 9, 1942.
Reznor served four consecutive terms as a Mercer County Commissioner from 1978 to 1994 and was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in 1995.
He was also active in community leadership, serving as president of the Grove City Jaycees and coaching Little Eagles football, later serving as head coach and president.
During his tenure as commissioner, Reznor played a key role in founding the Pennsylvania Republican Caucus of County Commissioners and was named the Outstanding County Official of the United States in 1984.
Prior to serving four consecutive terms as Mercer County commissioner, Reznor was elected to the Grove City Borough Council in 1978.
In 1982, he was a founded member of the Penn-Northwest Development Commission and led the Ridge for Governor Public Officials Organization, securing its endorsement.
After his retirement in 2002, Reznor remained active in community leadership, serving on the Treasure Lake Property Owners Association Board of Directors, including a term as president.
The service will be held on Saturday, March 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc. at 306 Bessemer Avenue in Grove City.
