PennDOT to host REAL ID day in New Castle

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is holding additional REAL ID Days events on Monday, March 24 to give Pennsylvania residents more opportunity to obtain a REAL ID.
"PennDOT is committed to making it as convenient as possible for Pennsylvanians to obtain a REAL ID if they want one," said PennDOT Deputy Secretary for Driver and Vehicle Services Kara Templeton.
PennDOT and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro have been urging residents of the state to switch over to the new REAL IDs in order to comply with U.S. domestic travel requirements.
REAL IDs, while optional in the state are one of only three types of acceptable IDs for actions like boarding domestic flights or entering federal facilities and military bases with military IDs and passports being the other options.
Over 5,000 Pennsylvania residents were assisted at the last REAL ID Days event which adds to the 2.5 million total residents in the state with a REAL ID already.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m. and among locations like Philadelphia and Allentown, the New Castle License Center will be holding a REAL ID Days Event.
PennDOT will be hosting four more REAL ID Days events across the state following March 24. Mercer County License Center and New Castle License Center will be holding REAL ID Days on April 7, April 14, April 28 and May 5.
These events will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 4:15 p.m.
