Sidewalk project on State Street in Hermitage set to restart this month

A multi-year project to extend the sidewalk on State Street in Hermitage is planned to restart in late March almost half a year after the project began.
The project initially began last year with part of the project being done in the fall. The project will resume on March 24 with a finish date estimated around September 2025.
The project includes installing a new ADA-compliant concrete sidewalk on State Street from the intersection with Buhl Boulevard to the intersection with Route 18.
Curbs, driveway tie-ins, signs and pavement markings are also planned to be replaced or updated with this project.
The project contractor is M&B Services of Clarion, PA and the contract is worth $1.65 million which will be paid entirely with federal funds.
While driveways will be maintained, it is advised that motorists slow down when approaching and going through the work zone and remain attentive and diligent to flaggers and road workers.
