On person has been arrested in connection with a threat made against Howland Middle School that was posted on TikTok, the Howland Township Police Department said Sunday.

Police made the arrest Sunday afternoon, hours after becoming aware of the threat. "There is no longer any active or immediate threat," the department said in a Facebook post.

Dispatchers began receiving calls about the threat around 2 p.m. Sunday.

"The safety of your children and our schools is our top priority and officers are investigating," the department said in an earlier post.

Police did not release the suspect's name or age, nor did they disclose the specific nature of the threat. The investigation is ongoing.
