If you were hearing any loud booms during the day, you may have been hearing training drills from the Youngstown Bomb Squad.

21 News received calls of sounds of explosions coming from the northern part of the city, occurring at times between roughly 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Youngstown Fire Department confirmed that these sounds were caused as a result of Youngstown Bomb Squad training that was being conducted.

There is no word on how long the training is expected to continue, or if any other days are scheduled.
