More sunshine to greet us over the next two days

Our stretch of pleasant weather will continue on Thursday with more sunshine in the forecast. Under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will rise back into the low 60s, about twenty degrees above average for early March.
A few patchy clouds could be around overnight, but there should still be good viewing conditions for the total lunar eclipse. Mostly sunny skies will again be around to end the work week with highs jumping into the low 70s, the warmest day so far this year, and our first day above 70 degrees since early November.
More active weather will return this weekend as a strong storm system moves through the center of the country. A round of showers will be likely Saturday morning before rain becomes more scattered during the afternoon. Any thunderstorm that does manage to get going during that time could be stronger in nature with gusty winds.
More widespread rain will return to the forecast Saturday night into early Sunday as a cold front approaches from the west. Rain will start to taper off after midday on Sunday, with high temperatures in the mid-60s.
Cooler air will briefly work back in to start next work week, and high temperatures on Monday will only be in the upper 40s. High temperatures will return to the low 60s by the middle of the week.
