Howland athletic facility cuts ribbon to celebrate grand opening

A new athletic facility in Howland held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its grand opening on Friday.
Howland Performance on East Market Street in Howland held its grand opening ceremony Friday, March 7.
The facility has equipment for several athletics including pitching machines, batting and pitching cages, a basketball court and a team of coaches who provide personalized training programs, group fitness classes and sports-specific training sessions.
Additionally, the facility offers birthday parties and recreational event rentals.
"Our vision is to build a thriving community of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to improving their performance and supporting one another in their athletic journeys," said Howland Performance founder Jesse DeJacimo.
The journey to open Howland Performance began with DeJacimo's own experiences as an athlete. According to a press release, DeJacimo was passionate about sports and fitness dedicating several hours to training and honing his skills.
As a coach of three boys' sports teams, he was frustrated with the lack of high-quality facilities in the Mahoning Valley that could help them reach their true potential. This frustration inspired the creation of Howland Performance.
Howland Performance is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. You can book sessions by calling 330-883-6508 or by clicking here.
