The Leetonia School District has terminated a Leetonia bus driver following a police investigation.
A disciplinary hearing was held on February 13 regarding district bus driver Scott Andre and after allegations by the district against the driver were determined to be true, Andre was terminated.
Some of the allegations by the district that led to his termination included:
- Alleged to have pursued recently graduated students that he has had contact with through your employment
with the school district for what appears to be "inappropriate intentions." - Alleged to have asked a former student under the legal age to suggest alcoholic beverages for her.
- Engaged in corporal punishment by striking girls on their hands with a ruler if they did not have
their school issue badges upon boarding the bus, in violation of Board Policy. - Entered a locker room after a coach asked Andre not to go in where a junior high school girl was changing.
- The district claimed his personal cell phone had what they said appeared to be inappropriate pictures of female Leetonia Staff members and sixth-grade girls.
Leetonia Police Chief Allen Haueter told 21 News WFMJ on February 13 that the investigation was turned over to the Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office to determine whether charges would be filed.
