Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley has announced its 34th Annual "Harvest for Hunger" campaign.

The campaign spans throughout the months of March, April and May with the goal of helping the food bank restock its shelves for the spring and summer months.

Those looking to get involved in the campaign can mail a check or money order to Second Harvest Food Bank at 2805 Salt Springs Road, Youngstown, OH 44509. 

For every $1 given, the food bank can distribute $10 worth of food or the equivalent to five meals.

Additionally, folks can donate through Giant Eagle's Check Out Hunger effort, which is a cashier-led initiative that gives customers the opportunity to donate $2, $5, $10 or any other preferred amount at the register between February 27 and and May 31.

Last year's Harvest for Hunger campaign raised over $351,000 and collected nearly 14,000 pounds of food, which provided over 1.7 million meals in the Valley.
