A Youngstown man is behind bars after police say he robbed an employee at a U-Haul facility in Warren.

According to a police report, police were called to the U-Haul facility on Main Avenue SW just after 3 p.m. Sunday for an alarm drop.

When they got there, police spoke with an employee who told officers she was robbed when a man, later identified as 43-year-old Robert Elias came into the building and tried to sell a watch to another customer.

Police say the customer didn't pay attention to him causing him to walk into the bathroom and come back after the room was empty.

The employee told police Elias came up to her and said he was "going to have to hurt someone today" and didn't want it to be her and added that he had a gun in his pocket as he put his hand in his pocket.

According to the report, the man never actually brandished a gun.

Police say the employee activated the alarm and then opened the register and handed him about $100 from it.

After awhile, police were able to find Elias, who matched the employee's description of the suspect, and brought him back to the U-Haul facility where the employee identified him as the suspect.

Elias was arrested and charged with robbery. He was arraigned Monday morning and is due back in court March 4.
