Police are looking for the driver of a car that knocked down a utility pole early Thursday, cutting power to hundreds of homes and businesses in Warren.

Dispatchers tell 21 News that the car ran into the pole along Mahoning Avenue near Packard Park just before 2:30 a.m.

Although wires came down on the car, the driver managed to get out and ran away.

Hundreds of outages were reported as a result. By 5:30 a.m., all but 18 FirstEnergy customers had their power restored.  Full repairs are expected by 7:30 a.m.
