Premier Bank presents $30,000 check to American Red Cross for Courage Awards

Premier Bank recently presented a $30,000 check to the American Red Cross of Greater Akron and the Mahoning Valley.

The funds from the donation will be used to sponsor the 29th Annual Acts of Courage Awards, as well as the Northeast Ohio Heroes Awards events.

According to a news release, the Acts of Courage Awards are presented to residents of all three Mahoning Valley counties, as ell as Medina, Portage and Summit Counties, who have acted courageously and selflessly during a time of emergency.

Additionally, the H. Peter Burg Community Leader Award will be presented to a community member who "has spent a lifetime pursuing good deeds" according to Red Cross Executive Director Rachel Stine.

This year's Acts of Courage Awards will be presented Thursday, March 6 in at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Akron.
