Niles School Board member resigns leaving vacancy in Board

The Niles City Schools Board of Education now has a vacancy following the resignation of a member.
According to a press release, Board member Christopher Chieffo resigned as of Wednesday, February 12. Chieffo was in his second term on the School Board. The release does not specify why he resigned.
Following Chieffo's resignation, the Board will begin the process to replace him and will name a replacement during a special meeting March 11. The newly-appointed member will serve the remainder of Chieffo's term, which lasts until December 31, 2025.
Anyone interested in filling Chieffo's seat is asked to send a letter of interest and resume to the Treasurer's Office (309, N. Rhodes Avenue, Niles, Ohio, 44446) or call 330-989-5095 by 3 p.m. Monday, Feburary 24.

Candidates must be District residents and registered voters. If you wish to continue serving on the Board following the end of Chieffo's term, you must be elected in the November 2025 general election.
