Cleveland Clinic to take over multiple primary care facilities in Mahoning, Trumbull Counties
Cleveland Clinic will be taking over multiple primary care facilities in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties starting next week.
According to a press release, 15 primary care providers and three advanced practice providers formerly affiliated with Steward Medical Group will now be taken over by Cleveland Clinic.
Cleveland Clinic Primary Care Institute Chair, Dr. Jim Gutierrez, says this expansion will not only improve patient care and accessibility, but also provide a stronger connection to one of the top medical institutions in the country.
"Our motto was patients first and we really wanted to make more of an effort to actually get into the Mahoning Valley and have a presence on the ground there," Gutierrez said. "If a patient does have a need for specialty care [and] that care can't be delivered [...] closer to home, then we'll be able to facilitate and smooth that transition to get them up to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland."
Here in the Valley Cleveland Clinic will be taking over operations at the following locations beginning Tuesday, February 18.
- 1450 S. Canfield-Niles Road Suite A (Austintown)
- 1450 S. Canfield-Niles Road Suite B (Austintown)
- 1570 S. Canfield-Niles Road Suite C (Austintown)
- 8511 Main Street (Kinsman)
- 8700 E. Market Street in (Warren)
In addition, Cleveland Clinic is expanding its existing Niles STAR Imaging facility at 652 Youngstown-Warren Road to include primary care there too. Dr. Szymon Krzyzanowski will be seeing patients at this location.
Gutierrez anticipates further expansion of primary care services. "I would foresee that as this year goes on and we move forward, we will be, either establishing more locations [in the Mahoning Valley] or bringing some other services to the sites that we're already starting."
The facilities will have the same doctors as they did before Cleveland Clinic assumed operations. A complete list of these doctors can be found below.

Access to a primary care provider is essential to keep up with preventative care, receive treatment for illnesses, manage certain chronic health conditions and get referred to see a specialist when needed," Gutierrez said.
