Vice President J.D. Vance alongside several other lawmakers will pay a visit to the Village of East Palestine on Monday, the second anniversary of the fiery train derailment in the village.

Vance will be joined by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, newly-sworn-in U.S. Senator Jon Husted, U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno and U.S. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin in his visit to the village.

On February 3, 2023, around 9 p.m., a large fire lit up the sky in East Palestine as 38 Norfolk Southern train cars derailed, 5 of them carrying toxic vinyl chloride.

Norfolk Southern, as well as the EPA began a long cleanup process that continues now.
