Police, firefighters and a crew from FirstEnergy were called late Friday morning after several utility poles were knocked down during a traffic accident near Boardman High School.

As of Saturday at 3:30 p.m., no outages are reported in the area.

According to data from Friday around 3:30 p.m., FirstEnergy reported 159 outages in the area. These outages were expected to be restored at 11:30 p.m. Friday night.

At 11:30 p.m. Friday night, there were 33 remaining outages that were expected to be restored the next morning, Saturday, at 2:30 a.m.

Dispatchers were told that a power transformer and wires were also down around the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Ingram Drive at around 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Police were interviewing the truck driver who they believe struck the pole.

Boardman schools continued to have power, but this crash had affected afternoon travel for student dismissal and was expected to cause delays in bus transportation.
