Six to join Youngstown State Athletics Hall of Fame next month

The Youngstown State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will induct six outstanding former student-athletes into the YSU Athletics Hall of Fame in February.
The class of 2024 features Casey Crozier (softball), Chris Elkins (football), Bobby Grace (track and field), Samantha Hamilton (track and field), Ciara Jarrett (track and field), and Kendrick Perry (men's basketball).
The ceremony is set for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Chestnut Room at the Kilcawley Center. The inductees will be introduced at halftime of the Youngstown State women's basketball game against IU-Indy, which begins at 2 p.m. at Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center.
Crozier (2011-14) set the school's all-time record for most wins (60), most strikeouts (565), and most innings pitched (674.1). She was named Horizon League Pitcher of the Year and First-Team All-Horizon League in 2014 after winning 19 games and a then-single-season record 197 strikeouts. That same year, she earned NFCA Midwest All-Region Second Team. She still owns the YSU career record for most innings pitched, ranks second on the all-time wins and strikeouts list, second with 16 career shutouts and 97 starts, and third with 67 complete games.
Elkins (2010-13) was a four-year letterwinner and a three-year starter on the offensive line. He made 38 consecutive starts during his four-year career. Elkins was named second-team All-American by The Associated Press while receiving third-team honors from The Sports Network in 2013. A three-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference pick, he was named first-team all-conference in 2013 and 2012 and Honorable Mention All-MVFC in 2011.
Grace (2010-14) was a four-year letterwinner and named the 2013-14 YSU Male Student-Athlete of the Year. A two-time all-American, Grace was a 2014 NCAA Indoor Track and Field First-Team All-American and Second-Team All-American in the 2014 outdoor track championships. He was just the second All-American in school history. He finished third in the shot put at the 2014 Indoor Track and Field NCAA Championships and 14th at the outdoor championships. Grace still owns the school record in the outdoor track shot put which was set in 2014, ranks fourth in the outdoor hammer throw and seventh in the outdoor discus. A seven-time Horizon League champion, Grace was named the Horizon League Field Athlete of the Year twice.
Hamilton (2009-14) was a six-time Horizon League individual champion and named the 2014 Horizon League Track and Field Athlete of the Year. She set 10 indoor and outdoor track and field and cross country school record, and she still owns eight school records and ranks second in two. Hamilton was also a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier.
Jarrett (2011-14) was a four-year letterwinner and was named the 2013-14 YSU Female Student-Athlete of the Year. She became the first YSU indoor track and field athlete to win four consecutive titles in the same event as she won all four Horizon League indoor crowns in the 200-meter dash. A 10-time individual conference champion, Jarrett still ranks in the top 10 all-time in four different sprints.
Perry (2010-14) was a three-Time First-Team All-Horizon League selection and is the only three-time first-team all-conference pick in school history. The 2012-13 YSU Scholar-Athlete of the Year, he ranks third all-time with 1,991 career points and is the program's Division I scoring leader. Perry, an NABC All-District First-Team selection in 2012-13 and 2013-14, holds the program's all-time record for career steals with 246 and ranks third all-time with 505 assists. Perry also owns the career mark for minutes played with 4,184, and he set 10 career and single-season YSU Division I records.
