A three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. will be making a stop in Warren in May
"The Wall That Heals" will arrive on the south lawn at Packard Music Hall in Warren Tuesday, May 27 and will be on display to the public from Thursday, May 29 through Sunday, June 1.
The memorial will be open 24 hours a day and is free for the public to visit.
The wall honors over 3 million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War and bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving.
The wall is transported from community to community in a 53-foot trailer that opens with exhibits built into its sides when it is parked.
These exhibits include digital photo displays of "Hometown Heroes" showcasing those from the Mahoning Valley that served in the war, as well as digital photo displays of local Vietnam veterans honored through the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund's "In Memory" program, which honors those who came home from the war, but later died.
Other displays include a video display that teaches about the history and impact of the wall, an educational exhibit told through items representative of those left at the wall in D.C., a replica of the "In Memory" plaque and a chronological overview of the war.
The wall had previously traveled to Warren in 2018. It
